KingFisher Boats of Vernon and parent company Bryton Marine Group have again achieved gold standard status in Canada’s Best Managed Companies program.
The family business group has been awarded for the second time.
Founded in 1992, Bryton is the largest privately held welded aluminum boat builder in North America.
It also operates EagleCraft in Campbell River, and in Washington state it owns All American Marine in Bellingham, BRIX Marine in Port Angeles, Weldcraft Marine and Duckworth Boats, both in Clarkston.
The companies operate independently while sharing best practices, strategic initiatives and identifying market trends that are driving innovation in each diverse market segment, the company says.
“Our group of companies works collaboratively to seize opportunities and embrace innovation,” says CEO Byron Bolton. “The recreational marine industry has seen a record increase in demand. Thanks to the limitless culture of our teams and the attachment to our values, we have risen to meet consumer expectations.
Now in its 29th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies awards recognize innovative, world-class business practices judged through a rigorous and independent process.
“The 2022 Best Managed winners exemplify innovation, adaptability and resilience in the face of uncertainty,” said Lorrie King of Deloitte, program co-lead. “Over the past year, these forward-thinking companies have pivoted to successfully meet challenges and capitalize on new opportunities, leveraging industry-leading skills to maximize their investments and drive sustainable growth. “
KingFisher recently announced a 20,000 square foot expansion of its Vernon production facility.
Bryton has 415 employees and holds the No. 1 welded aluminum boat market share in North America.
