Okanagan Lake Boat Rentals launches water taxi – Kelowna News

There’s a new way to get around the lake this summer in Kelowna.

Okanagan Lake Boat Rentals has launched its new water taxi service, a responsible way to get you from point A to point B while enjoying all that the Okanagan has to offer.

“The water taxi is great for tourists coming into town or locals wanting to get out and experience the lake. Most groups go to the Tiki Bar, so it’s a great opportunity if you want to cruise there,” said co-owner Trent Redschlag.

“You get about 40 minutes by boat from the downtown dock. You can hang out at the Tiki Bar, have a few drinks, and not have to worry about driving home.

Available all summer, the water taxi cruises to multiple locations for pickup and drop-off, including the Eldorado Hotel, Downtown King Taps, Lake Okanagan Resort Tiki Bar, McKinley Beach, and Fintry.

“I just started going there just by private charters. This is our first weekend where we are going live on the website. Now it will run until the end of September, Thursday through Sunday with scheduled appointments and Monday through Wednesday by appointment only,” said co-owner Branden Redschlag.

Some of its first guests filled the 11-passenger pontoon ahead of its official launch this weekend, and critics are coming in with two thumbs up.

“Amazing! It was really nice, easy up and down. And you know, we did it in, I don’t know, maybe 20 minutes to Kelowna. Guys are amazing, we spent a wonderful time. We will definitely use them,” said Elizabeth Peralta.

Branden says they strive to create a relaxing time for passengers.

“With the water taxi, we take control of the driving, so you can sit back, have a drink and enjoy your time on the water. A hassle-free experience where you can just relax and laugh and pump out the music if you want,” Branden said.
