KingFisher Boats of Vernon expands boat manufacturing plant – Vernon News

KingFisher expands its factory

KingFisher Boats of Vernon is expanding its boat manufacturing facility.

Two new buildings are being constructed on company property on Highland Road at the north end of Swan Lake.

The expansion will bring the production facility to 20,000 square feet and support record market demand for its largest offshore vessels as well as dedicated space for product development.

“In order to continue to meet the needs of our North American dealer network, we have identified an opportunity to improve our manufacturing processes, which will have a long-term positive impact on our dealers, our employees and our community”, said President Brad Armstrong.

“By growing our footprint, we are strengthening our ability to provide products to future owners while supporting our long-term goal of being North America’s preferred aluminum boat builder.”

The buildings have been designed with productivity and safety in mind; with state-of-the-art cranes and welders.

The project started in October and the new facilities will be operational later this year.

The expansion includes significant environmental improvement along the shore of Swan Lake with the creation of turtle nesting sites and the planting of 85 native trees and 240 native shrubs.

The company is also hiring to support expansion and applications can be made through the KingFisher website.

KingFisher builds and distributes 29 models in five boat series: Offshore, Coastal, Sport, Multi-Species and River Jet.

It currently employs 162 people.
